Lion City Cup (The lost generation)

As Lion City Cup 2011 approaches,
TNP reviews a U16 winning team from Singapore that was forgotten. (15 June 2011)
The boy in the middle of the front row is Khairi, aka Mr khairi the AED in HKSS.
After winning the C division national title in 2001,
many HKSS boys were invited to join the COE or NFA team.
Former NFA U16 coach Suria Murthi reminded Mr Ng that he used to have as many as
7 HKSS boys training under him in the NFA team.
(Afiq, Azmi, Azhar, Khairi, Rasul, Fadilh and Jun Hao all made either the NFA or COE team)
Surprisingly, non of them are involved in S-League or National team in 2011.
These are good players with huge potential that was never fully developed.
(Studies, NS & injuries etc robbed them of their chance to make it to the top)
Will the current crop of HKSS C boys make it to the top ???
Find out the answer in the year 2021.

HKSS C boys at Jurong East Stadium

It's nice to see former HKSS C boys playing professional football.
It's a long journey and involves a lot of commitment and sacrifices.
Singapore is well known around the world for it's education system.
When it comes to football education, Singapore can definitely learn from other countries.
With better knowledge and more effort put into grooming young talents,
HKSS hope to play a part in shaping the future of Singapore football.
