MUPC round 2

Once last cheer before kick-off.
The MUPC journey ended with 3 defeats and a draw for team A in round 2.
Playing with older boys was not easy.
It was made more difficult when senior players reported late or absent themselves.
Despite the constraints, there were alot of positives to be taken from this tournaments.
The Sec 1s and those who took part for the first time in this tournament really learnt alot.
It was also very heartening to see players giving their best
and refused to give up under pressure.
Syahrain managed to keep one clean sheet in this round and Hakim managed to score.
Hareez was getting more positive on the ball and Sec 1 centre back pairing of Jie Seng and Haiqal performed beyond expectations.
Raihan was played in different positions to help the team and never stopped trying.
Syhami was played in an unfamiliar left back position and did well the final 2 games.
Ammirul was played out of position in the centre of midfield but looking comfortable.
Muzakir showed more tactical discipline and managed to break free from the off-side trap before being brought down by the ACS(I) keeper.
The keeper was sent off but Haziq did not take full advantage of the free kick that ensued.
Danial, Azfar, Nazlee and Khairi were involved in one way or another.
This tournament also showed the coaches how many players really cared about playing for HKSS.
We were very impressed by how some of the players reacted under stressful condition.
The non-committed ones perhaps deserved less attention from now onwards.
By 2011 or 2012 these committed players should be ready to step up and play better.
Dear HKSS boys, winning a game is a collective effort.
Don't be discouraged by this setback.
Let's continue to encourage your teammates and work harder to become better players ok?
Also, congratulations to team B and we wish them all the luck for the quarter -finals.
Always remember : Conquer thyself through Discipline, Learning & Care.
Danial sacrificed his Genting trip to be with the team
Some of the senior Sec 2 players should learn from him.

The player doing their last prayers before the kick-off.
Hakim can't wait to get into the action.
He scored a brilliant lobbed volley over Serangoon Sec.
Haziq was the captain for the day.
Wen Zong was absent.

Team A getting ready for the hand-shake with Seng Kang Sec.

The challenge to play against older boys did not bother the boys from Team A.
They'll find out soon how tough it was.

A sleepy looking but smiley Azfar.

Muzakir and Khairi on a bright sunny day.
