He is the first HKSS player to be involve in Asian Game.
Let's hope that he gets a game or 2 and clock up valuable experience for the future.
Hopefully his involvement will open the door for more HKSS players.
Good luck Afiq.
Latest update in Asian Game 2010:
7 Nov 2010
Singapore 0 : Qatar 0
Singapore lineup : Izwan Mahbud (GK); Faritz Abdul Hameed, Safuwan Baharudin, Afiq Yunos, Shakir Hamzah; Shahdan Sulaiman, Firdaus Kasman (Eddie Chang 77′), Hariss Harun (captain), Izzdin Shafiq, Nazrul Ahmad Nazari (Fazly Hassan); Shahril Ishak (Erwan Gurnawan 90′ +2)
Afiq Yunos started and played the whole game.
Kuwait was the better side and their goals were good.
Singapore still can qualify for the next round with a good win over India.
Good luck Afiq and Co.
The crop and change in the U23 team finally caught up with Singapore.
Singapore players tried but were not good enough.
Afiq played 3 games and clocked up very good experience in international football.
Afiq didn't play with confidence against India.
Perhaps the inexperience keeper and
playing with unfamiliar partners at centreback position affected him.
