It was not to be.
China was playing with 10 men after their no. 18 was sent off for fouling Singapore no. 19.
China No. 18 brought Singapore No. 19 down just outside the box.
It was very harsh, China had 2 players chasing.
It should really be a yellow card at most.
The Chinese players were incensed by the referee's decision.
Singapore had an extra man and the chance to take the lead.
The free kick was excecuted poorly and the chance wasted.
Shortly after, China took the lead through their captain no. 10 Yan Peng.
China No. 10 scored again just before half time.
He completed his hattrick in the second half.
Try as Singapore might, the goals did not come.
Singapore players (5 footers) were out-sized by the 6 foot tall China defenders.
The stadium was very quiet after the second goal.
Singapore needed more fire power up front clearly.
While Sinagpore did not lose too badly for the 3 games,
the defensive approach did not bring victory to the country too.
It was sad to see Singapore only interested in playing well defending,
closing down the opponent and not be more positive in trying to score.
The crowd who came to support in the stadium knew that Sinagpore would score very few goals by the way the team was set up.
Most of the time Singapore played with 1 recognised striker
and flood the midfield at our homeground.
Singapore had 2 small strikers against China and did not make any impact during the game.
To be fair, the Singapore players tried their best.
Let's just hope there will be more attacking players with good size being involved to help Singapore score more goals for the YOG.
Ammirul and Firdaus played fairly well and can still improve.
Well done boys.

He didn't get a chance to play.
Ammirul played well for Singapore defensively.
Too defensive throughout the tournament sometimes.
Sinagpore played really well against Thailand.
Singapore defended so well that Thailand did not get behind the defence.
Thailand captain had no choice but to try scoring from 25m to 30m away from goal.
It worked !
The Thais scored all 4 goals from long range,
2 directly through the middle,
2 tap-ins from free kicks.
Thai captain no. 10 had a foot in all 4 goals.
All the outfield players' hard work had came to nothing.
The 4 strikes were perhaps too hot for Singapore keeper to handle.
